Yes you can refuse it, however when you become sexually active you should start getting them ust to be safe. ]
I think you are talking about a Pap Smear. It's when they check for cervical cancer. You don't have to do it but eventually you will have to. So why not just do it now to see if you have anything wrong with up there for later on in life? ]
haha yeah you can refuse it. my doctor wanted to do it to me and i was like "do i have to do it?" and he said "no it's afree country" and so i said "i'm free, so no thanks" and i don't have to for like... 5 more years. haha. ]
Hey,
I know now what your talking about. Your talking about a Pap Smear. You don't have to have them done until you get into your 30's my mom said. Also its when you have children. The reason they do a Pap Smear is to check for any kind of cancers you might have. Every woman has to do it. But If you want probably you don't have to but its safer if you do it.
edit:
Probably

Maybe you're talking about a PAP smear?

And, contradictory to what the person below me said, I belive the common age for getting pelvic exams and PAP smears, in the USA, is 18 - not 21. But I could be wrong.
Either way, if you're sexually active, it's a good idea to have one of these wonderfull things done.

Hi There,
I think what you are refering to is to Cervical Smear (uk) or PAP smear (USA)
A Pap smear is a way to look at a sample of cells taken from a woman's cervix. The test is used to look for changes in the cells of the cervix that show cervical cancer or conditions that may develop into cancer.
All women who are or who have been sexually active, or who have reached age 21, should have an annual Pap smear. It is your best tool to detect pre-cancerous conditions and hidden, small tumors that may lead to cervical cancer. If detected early, cervical cancer can be cured.
As you are only 13 you won't have to worry too much about having one until you are sexually active or 21, whichever is first.
You can always refuse to have pretty much anything done when it comes to your body, I wouldn't advise missing out on these exams when you are old enough to need them though as they are pretty important.
Take Care
