DirtySchmageggie answered Friday January 13 2006, 12:50 am: Don't ever straighten wet hair unless you want it to break off or get split ends. sizzle sizzle
I have very curly hair and I straighten my hair almost daily. I wash my hair the night before and let it airdry for like an hour(I brush through my curls when it's wet and use frizz ease product in my hair). After, it's mostly air dryed I blow out the rest of it (try not to blow dry too much because it makes your hair really dry, frizzy, and heat is bad for your hair in big amounts)because it is soo bad to sleep on wet hair and even worse to sleep on wet hair that is pulled up. If you want to sleep with your hair up use a ribbon not an elastic!!
Fivestar answered Thursday January 12 2006, 11:22 pm: What I do is I blow dry it first then I pull almost all of it up in a clip and start off doing the bottom first. Then when that is straight I take a little more down. This was the only way that worked for me to make sure that I got all of it straight. Hope this helped <3 [ Fivestar's advice column | Ask Fivestar A Question ]
fabulous11 answered Thursday January 12 2006, 7:44 pm: well you deffinatly want to make sure your hair is completly dry cause if it is wet it will fry it but im guess ing you know that.
um...depending on how much hair you have 20 mins may or may not be enough time.
when i sraghten my hair i normally put it half up and straigten whats down then take some more down and then straighten that and so on and so on.

- Get a shower the night before.
- Put your hair up && dont dry so then it wont be real puffy && it is still a little wet in the morning, so just try to straighten it then
- && use small pieces of hair.
hopeihelped answered Thursday January 12 2006, 7:14 pm: Blow dry your hair straight with a round brush and made your hair curve in, not flip out. While you're blow drying your hair, have your straightener plugged in and ready to use. When you're straightening, work in sections. First, clip up (or pony tail) all of your hair excepting the bottom layer. Then straighten the bottom layer, and then keep sectioning it off like that. When you're finished, put on a smoothing milk or leave in conditioner (only use leave in conditioner if it's a liquid, not a gel). Then, when you're all done, use the blow dryer very quickly (no brush, just the top layer needs to be done) put your blow dryer on the cool setting for a finished look. Good luck! janelle<3 answered Thursday January 12 2006, 6:38 pm: make sure its completely dry...and if you can avoid it dont just use your straightner try geting a heat defense product that you can put in when its wet, that will help prevent splitends and damage to your hair. helpachick answered Thursday January 12 2006, 6:27 pm: hey! well i would say 15-20 mins to straigten your hair is probably ok...if you can't allow yourself any more time. make sure your hair is FULLY dryed before starting. and just get like a 2-3 in. clump of hair and slowly move the straigtner down your hair, clamped tightly. you might have to do that a few times if it doesnt straigten enough the first time. xoxo helpachick [ helpachick's advice column | Ask helpachick A Question ]
