I want my hair to be less frizzy and big..what can I do?
I have to get a hair cut and get more layers since parts of my hair are dead. I've tried using gel and hairspray but it makes my hair curly.. And that just makes it more frizzier than it was before. I dont know what to use. Is there some product or hair treatment that I can do? It seems like if I try to straighten my hair..it'll poof up. >__<
hugsNkisses answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 6:36 pm: try using a product called Redken. get the smooth down one and use it daily after you shower, before you blowdry you hair, anything. its a great product. also you might want to think about getting a really good straightener like Chi. its really excellent. a bunch of my friends have the same crazy hair and its worked for them. hope this works and good luck!

PerfectlyFlawed answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 5:03 pm: Hmm... how have you tried to strighten your hair? The most effective way to do it is to blow dry it throughtly first then straighten it with a hair iron, and afterwards you apply either a little bit of hair grease or some hair styling lotion to calm it down. kristen22 answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 10:21 am: Make sure when you tell them you want layers that you want it thinned out. This will help keep your hair from looking so B I G. Other than that you probably know what to do.. I have found using the right products for our kind of hair makes it either less frizz or in my case none at all. I use Garnier Fructius sleek & shine shampoo & conditioner then blowdry and straighten with and i stress this part of course I use a straightner but make sure you spend a xtra dollar and get the better one. It will make all the difference as to how long your hair will remain straight. then I put on Dove straightening creme. it's awesome and these products are great on a budget. Hope I helped. firefox answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 9:39 am: hey! my god i love this topic ...anyways my hair was frizzy first..oh wait it still is but less then before what ya need to do is after you shampoo your hair in the shower DO not put conditioner on! after you get out comb your hair really well then take the conditioner and put on the hair rub gently everywhere make sure to get the parts you want and then take a hot soaked towel or a hot thermal headcap ( the plastic ones you know that right) and place it on your head. leave it for atleast 1hr tops. you can take it off anytime you want but for better results leave for an hour. rinse it off and then comb normally. do this atleast 2wice a week ...youll find your hair so much better then before trust me tried it and its amazin.....RATE PLEASE [ firefox's advice column | Ask firefox A Question ]
mercuryrose answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 7:56 am: I have that problem at the moment. Buy some anti frizz strightening creme for your hair [I find the pink loreal one that Beyonce advertises is good ^_^] then on an evening after having a bath/shower take the time to strighten your hair, and I mean all of it. start on the underneath slowly working your way through [and if your hair is like mine this can take along time] I don't recomend using a hairdryer as they tend to make your hair more frizzy and dry, which will cause more problems... prettyx10 answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 7:04 am: Eh i used to have tha same problem. Here's what you do.. FIRST go get that haircut or trim.. get a Hot-oil treatment twice a week.. i LOVE Rene Furterer' Carthame Oil.. but its pricey and hard to find in tha states so you'd have to order it.. so if you dont wana go thru all that just go to target and get a VO5 Hot Oil treatment or something.. follow tha directions..
apply a little frizz serum to ur hair and blow dry straight w/ a round brush or a straightenin brush.. then spray a heat protectant on ur hair and straighten w/ a flat iron.. after thats all done then apply John Frieda Secret Weapon ($5, drugstores).. just a lil bit tho..

KiSSxMYxPEARLS answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 2:31 am: For your curly hair to frizz it down a bit there is this product by John Frieda
Frizz Ease Hair Serum Extra Strength Smooth & Defrizz.
Sorry, it's not bigger. You can buy this product at drug stores like Wal*Greens.
If your going to straighten your hair, I use Bed Head "HeadBrush". Basically you can buy it at any place where they sell Bed Head. But i bought it at a salon. It's just a spray but not like a sticky spray. It smells really good too! It gives it shine though. That's it. But it gives your head a really pretty smell lol =)
If you do get a haircut or not, just go into any salon & say what your problem is & they'll recommend something. They'll probably want you to buy something expensive, but just look if it seems good for your hair.
Also, for your curly hair, DON'T brush it.Brushing your hair can just make it REALLY poofy & frizzy. Just comb it & put moose on it. It gives it volume & it just kind of sticks it down. But don't over do it because then it'll just become one sticky mess.
metal_cheerleader_x answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 1:27 am: You can straighten it then take hairspray (*rave*) and then spray a little on a comb or brush and then brush your hair and that will take the puff in your hair out .. then take (leave in ) conditioner and put some in your hand and rub it in your hair and that should take the frizz out
