I have two cats that have been raised together since they were kittens. One cat is a grey tabby and the other is a black tortise shell cat. The past few days I've noticed that the female cat is in heat. She rubs against everything, thrusts her rear into the air, and howls loudly. My male cat however, seems uninterested. I'd really like them to have babies. Is something wrong with my male cat? Is this normal?

if he is neotured then that is probably the problem there...or maybe he is just not in heat either...don't think there is a problem...it is normal for this kind of problem...hoped i helped.

fish34 answered Monday January 2 2006, 5:52 pm: There's probably nothing wrong with the cat, but I really discourage breeding them. There are already too many cats that are homeless, so why bring more into the world? I'm not trying to be mean at all, but if you want a kitten, please check your local animal shelter. There are TONS of kittens that really need homes. :) [ fish34's advice column | Ask fish34 A Question ]
BoxerxCutie answered Monday January 2 2006, 4:19 pm: there is nothing wrong with your cat he might just not be used to your female, and may just not be interested , but i wouldnt worry about it. Is your male cat nuetured because that could be a reason thats how mi cats were but mi male cat was neutered and he didnt pay any attention. Hope i helped, if not ask a question

MyHappyShoe answered Monday January 2 2006, 4:10 pm: your cat might be gay.. seriously. I'm not trying to be funny or anything, my cat's gay too. If you really want them to have babies then take them to the vet and have him do it. [ MyHappyShoe's advice column | Ask MyHappyShoe A Question ]
