Does the plastic applicator stay in your vagina when you put a tampon in?

Question Posted Sunday December 18 2005, 8:52 pm

i know it's not necessarily sex, but i didn't know what to put it under.
well, when i try to put on tampons, i get it in a little, but it doesn't go in anymore..
and also, when they teach you how to put tampons in (or, the pictures), it shows the plastic applicator going into the vagina. but i see the plastic part in the garbage can all the time (because my mom) and it's never covered in blood.. i don't know. i'm confused. people have showed me sites to help me, but it doesn't really necessarily help.

Okay. Well... the blood doesnt come out that much on the applicator, so thats why you dont see it. You put the tampon in your vagina. You probably cant get it in anymore because you are scared and not pushing hard enough. Just give it another try. Oh, and the applicator does not stay in the vagina.

ok what you do is you have a tampon and insid of the applicater is a cotton type thing and what you do is you take the applicater stick it into your vagina only like tell the grip or until you think it is in far enough and then you just pull the applicater out and the cotton is in you and a string should be hanging out and then after a few hours when you change it pull the cotton out by the string and then do over

I hope I helped

Hey hun,
when you put in a tampon, as u push it in a bit the cottony, main part goes up and the applicator is pushed down and out.

maybe when you see the plastic applicator in the bin without any blood on it... maybe its because your mum wipes it afterwards?? or maybe her periods arent seriously heavy or maybe theres no blood coming out yet.

maybe you cant get the tampon in all the way because you are tensing up and not relaxing enough. maybe because your not standin in the best position for you to insert it. so keep relaxed and experiment with the different positions. like with one leg up on the toilet seat or squating with your legs apart.

if you find that the tampon doesnt go right in straight away try using your finger to push it in a little further. yes i know it seems discusting but thats why we have sinks and water to wash our hands afterwards right?

when im on my period i use tampons every now and again and i know that if it hurts then its not in the right place or im not using the right tampon to suit my flow and body.

good luck hunni i hope i helped. If you need any more adivce feel free to drop me a message in my inbox or to email me on my msn addy.

ok a tampon goes in much easier if you are in a half standing position. About a foot above the toilet. If you choose to use tampons that have applicators, yes the whole thing does goe in. You push it up from the bottom then dispose of the applicator. Now i personally dont like to use those, only because its hard to guide the tampon in for me. OB tampons are designed differently than the rest. Because you do have to push it up with your finger, do to the fact there is no applicator. Ive used them since day 1 and i love them because i know there in place, and i know how far to push it up. Alot of girls think its gross, but its not that big of a deal. The way that you are positioned when putting 1 in, makes a huge difference. Dont change it too often if you dont need to, because when your too "dry" it makes it harder to go in also! Just kind of experiment thats all you can do. Itll come with some practice.
Good Luck~

Are you a virgin? Because that could be a big part of it. When I first started my period I was told that some girls cannot use a tampon until they lose their virginity. This is because there is something that breaks (which is why it bleeds the first time) I dont know a lot about it, but thats what I am thinking. Also about seeing your moms leftover plastic part, maybe she can get it in all the way without getting blood on that part, just talk to her about it.
