Is there a way I can get soft ringlets by using a curling iron? I've tried but it all just kind of clumps together and doesn't make separate little curls. My hair is shoulder-length.

Well, here's what you do: First, spritz some curling spray (L'Oreal Heat-Activated Curling Spray: $4 at drugstores) so that you won't make those curls look frizzy and dry-especially since it's winter! Next, separate 1 inch sections of your hair using a wide-toothed comb. Using a 1/2 inch curling iron (Conair Ceramic Curling Iron: $20 at drugstores), curl each section thoroughly. Make sure that it is FULL of curls. It may look weird at first, but after you do that, you that same wide-toothed comb and comb all of the curls until they're less defined (which makes "soft ringlets") Spray on a moisturizing spray to make ou're hair look shiny and healthy, and -if you need it- a holding spray or gel that will keep those ringlets in place. DON'T TOUCH YOUR HAIR AFTER, OR THE CURLS WILL FALL OUT PLACE!!
