Eventually you get used to it, and no one treats you differently! I am getting braces too, but think of it this way: MY TEETH WILL BE PERFECT WHEN I GROW UP!!!! -- Just think that you will get it over with and not have to deal with it later on!! Don't be nervous....be confident and prepared!! [ XoMoLLyGiRl4620's advice column | Ask XoMoLLyGiRl4620 A Question ]

I had 3 perminant teeth pulled (I had no room for them), they have roots, baby tooth don't so they don't hurt.
If you don't let them pull it chances are you will need braces. The tooth is blocking the other tooth from coming in. If they don't pull it, it will shift back and cause problems ; such as it will come in further back then the rest of your teeth. It happened to me. I have braces now, trust me they're not that bad.
Well, I hope I helped you with your problem. Feel free to ask me any other questions you have.

But this is the way I look at it.. Would you rather get braces now or when your older? I bet your thinking to yourself, "I don't want them at all!" But the sooner you get them on, the sooner they will come off. You're saying that you have great teeth, so if you do go through with getting braces, you probably won't have them on for too long.
sexiibrunette answered Tuesday November 29 2005, 3:17 pm: The same thing happened to me, when they pull the baby tooth it makes room for the big tooth to come in. The big tooth will probably go in the spot where the baby tooth was naturally straight, but if it comes in crooked then its your decision whether you want braces. I would say wait and see what happens, that's what i did. Hope I could help! [ sexiibrunette's advice column | Ask sexiibrunette A Question ]
Juicygirl answered Tuesday November 29 2005, 2:54 pm: The reason they are removing your baby tooth is because your new teeth will force its way in even if the baby tooth refuses to budge. That will cause the rest of your teeth to slide behind or in front of each other in order to make room and cause your teeth to become crooked. Do not be nervous since the gap will soon be filled in with your new teeth and the braces will straighten your smile out. It's a lot better than having to wear an painful expander for a year.
Whether or not your baby teeth gets pulled out has nothing to do with how white your teeth is or cavities.
Don't worry, you are NOT being dumb. It's okay to be concerned. You should always talk to your orthodontist about anything that might be bothering you, since he or she will help reassure you and explain the procedure. Knowing the big plan will help ease those nerves. Besides, tin is in ;) [ Juicygirl's advice column | Ask Juicygirl A Question ]

The dentist puts novacain on it to numb the pain so u dont feel anything... you might not be able to chew where you got the tooth pulled for about 2 days but that is mailey it.
