Question Posted Sunday November 27 2005, 7:54 pm

Ok, for school I have to choose a book for this book report thing. Any books you like apropriate for a seventh grade girl? (Only if they're really good, because I hate a lot of books!)

Thank you! xoxo abercrombiebabiex3

Inkheart!

It is lengthy, but boy is it AMAZING! It really will draw you in wehther or not your a reader. It also just came out with it's sequel, Inkspell. Inkheart is on the virge of becoming a movie! So if you read this book, you should be able to go see the movie too (that's always fun).

Here's a summary of Inkheart I found on the internet: Twelve-year old Meggie Folchart lives alone with her father, Mo. Mo is a talented book binder who's love for books is only superceded by his love for Meggie and for his lost wife. Meggie had never been told where her mother went or why she left, all she knows is she has been without her mother since she was three-years old. In spite of that vacancy in her life, however, Meggie's life with her father and with her learned love and respect for books is near idyllic; until one night when a stranger, with the unlikely name of Dustfinger, comes to pay Mo a visit. A whispered conversation between Mo and Dustfinger, behind the closed door of Mo's workshop, then starts an odyssey that begins with a rushed trip to Meggie's great-aunt Elinor's home and ends by nearly killing them in the village of a villain named Capricorn.

It isn't long before Meggie learn that book binding is not her father's only talent; he also has the ability to people and objects right out of stories and into the real world, with a sometimes devastating side-effect for those who might hear him as he reads. Meggie must also come to grips with two other unsettling revelations: the story of how her mother disappeared and the discovery that she has inherited her father's strange talent.

Capricorn is after Mo because of his unusual ability and is also after a book in Mo's possession, a book called Inkheart.Capricorn and his band of remarkable thugs will stop at nothing to capture and control Mo and gain possession of the book.

...

And trust me, however good the summary makes this book sound, it's 10x better! I think you'll really, really enjoy it. It'll be great to do a project on as long as you have 2 weeks or more to finish the book. (You could probably finish it in one week...but you'd really be squishing things in)

Just as long as we're together by Judy Blume is a great book. Every girl in my seventh grade class read it and loved it. Another good one is Say Goodnight, Gracie by Julie Reece Deaver. It's sad, but a great book. The Outsiders by SE Hinton (any book by her for that matter) is another good one. It remains one of my favorite books even now that I'm out of school.

Sisterhood of the traveling pants is a good book to read. My sister read that for a 7th grade reading project a few years back. She enjoyed the book and got really into it.(mind that she usually hates reading and everything that has to do with it.)
I would also recomend a Nancy Drew book. Those are very good if your into mysteries.
Then ther is a series... Even at my age (which is 19) I enjoy.

The shadow Children's book. There about how in the future, the governm, ent comes up with law that every family can only have up to 2 children. Then theres a family who has the three children. The third one is Luke. He is what you consider a shadow child.
It shows his troubles and tribulations as trying to find bpeace and trying to fix the world of evil known as the population police.

Its a GREAT series, And i think you would love it.

Much love
♥

hmm i understand my sister hates reading too. but i think when she was in seventh grade she read the sisterhood of the traveling pants...and she LIKED it!! lol so i read it it is really good also if you've read that one the second one is really good (second summer of the sisterhood) and i know there's a third out there...not sure of the name though. if you like mysteries, then a few good ones are twisted summer, or many of the ones from joan lowery nixon i liked those when i was in 6th and 7th grade.
