do just animals go through cellular respiration and plants go through photosynthesis, or do they both go through cellular respiration. (im not asking if plants go through photosynthesis, i know they do, im just wondering if they go through cellular respiration too.) thanksss
S_C answered Wednesday November 23 2005, 3:02 pm: Haha, I agree--- who needs biology? Well science people, but if you aren't going to be one, why take the dagum class?!
Anyway, we just tested on that like two weeks ago... but both use cellular respiration, because of like ATP and stuff-- yeah, you should go to www.brainpop.com
I think you have to pay, but we watch those things like every day in science that's how I remember the stuff, they're stupid but sometimes funny, and I don't know, they help you remember things about science that not many care about haha.
Now math and english-- what subjects could be easier?! The two that always stay the same, you just get a little more info each year...
erendor answered Wednesday November 23 2005, 9:00 am: Short answer - yes. Most (meaning about 99%, I'd imagine) of plants experience cellular respiration.
You've heard how plants take in CO2 and give out oxygen? How this is crucial for life and stuff? ;P
Well, there's your respiration right there. Glad to be of help. [ erendor's advice column | Ask erendor A Question ]
DZANAx3 answered Tuesday November 22 2005, 5:42 pm: well during photosynthesis plants obviously get energy from the sunlight to produce sugar. Then the energy is put to use(cellular respiration) and it produces ATP (adenosine triphospate) [sp?] its a common form in which energy is stored in the cell. The same thing occurs with animals except the photosynthesis part so yes plants and animals both go through respiration ;) [♥] [ DZANAx3's advice column | Ask DZANAx3 A Question ]
sillyrob answered Tuesday November 22 2005, 3:20 pm: I'm fairly sure plants only go through photosynthesis. Plants are the opposite of animals, they need carbon dioxide to survive, leaving ovygen as waste. We need oxygen to survive, leaving carbon dioxide as waste. So I don't see how plants could go though cellular respiation. Anyways, animals who go through that have lungs. [ sillyrob's advice column | Ask sillyrob A Question ]

Respiration burns or oxidizes the glucose produced by photosynthesis and provides usable energy for both plants and animals. Keep in mind that both plants and animals respire, but only plants carry on photosynthesis. [ naimee's advice column | Ask naimee A Question ]
