What does CC: mean when you recieve an email

On hotmail, when you send and recieve an email it says at the top...
From...
Sent : ...
To : ...
CC :...
Subject : ...

I know what the other things are but i'm not sure what CC means. i recieved an email today and in the CC part was someones email address who i don't know.
can someone tell me please

it means carbon copy. The person that was on the CC part will see that email sent to you.

It stands for carbon-copied. This means a copy of your note was made and sent to someone else. BCC by the way, stands for Blind Carbon Copy. This is when someone gets a copy of a note you wrote or they wrote that is sent to someone they did not wish you to see it sent to.

CC- carbon copy BCC- blind carbon copy, you send a person an e-mail then under BCC, you put another e-mail, the person you sent the first message to won't know that you sent the message to another person because its a BLIND carbon copy.

copy to.
like you can send it to someone, then you can "copy" it to other people. Its the same as sending it ot other people, as it is to copy it to other people.
