*ashlee* answered Friday November 4 2005, 4:26 pm: if your asking about why some people have "innies" and some people have "outies".. i read once that its because when your born, about a week after the umbilical cord is cut, itll become necrotic and fall off, ideally leaving a concave scar (an innie). but depending on how conditions are when your in the womb and depending on how your bodies healing process goes, you could form an outie. but neither one is better or worse than the other. if your meaning why are the shapes and sizes of belly buttons different, its because, well for the same reason height and eye color are different. they just are.
