I've heard this referred to as frosting, especially when it's a lighter color. However, frosting is frosting, and it's much easier to go back to your normal look after it grows out a bit.

Tips.. i don`t thing it really has a name.. i had my tips done on my hair and everybody just described me with brown hair with red tips.. so i`m assuming thats what its called... sorry i didnt help much.. ♥ Dez
