cheerleading

Question Posted Wednesday October 26 2005, 7:54 pm

Ok, so tomorrow I am trying out for my school's cheerleading squad. I know the cheer and the dance really good, but I always get nervouse while performing in a group less than 5 people. We audition 2 at a time. Plus, my friend who was supposed to audition with me has decided not to try out at all. Now, what can i do to make it less intimidating? And dont say ignore them because I have to look straight at the judges and smile! please answer quickly!!! BeLLa DaNieLLa

okay i know this probably wont help now since today is the 29th but i am a former cheerleader and when you go for try outs just be yourself and try your best just because you friend isnt going with you dont be scared! you dont always need someone there. put on the best show you possibly can and give it you all if you make it just do the best facials give all the spirit you can and show then that you deserve to be on that team. cheer like you mean it! good luck

DON'T BE NERVOUS!!!! Nomatter what you do just remember to smile, and use your nervous energy to make your muscles tighter & motions sharper.

Also, I don't know if you have any tumbling, but if you do try to do that first. Normally that relieves stress, so you'll feel a little more confident after doing something you KNOW you have. Good luck hunn!

Just pretend the judges are in their underwear and just smile at them. I'm sure that you will do fine, just think about it this way, if you make the squad you'll be cheering in front of hundreds. :) Good Luck!!

We are cheerleaders and we preform in front of thousands of people. We were scared the first time to. Just think of some thing you like to do. Pretend your friend is right there with you. Hope you make the squad and hope we helped. Good Luck!!

Haha, you are trying out this late in the year? I tried out in May! Haha. Well I made it, and I can tell you right now is just to be nice and confident. I messed up twice and I said really sweet "Oh gosh Im sorry, would you mind if I tried again?" And when you come in, you just have to own it. Beleive in what you can do and you can make it.

:)

Hope it Helps and Good Luck!

Melanie
