Belly button piercing

Question Posted Sunday October 23 2005, 5:14 pm

I'm thinking of getting a belly button piercing. I got a few questions... Does it hurt? Do they numb anything or no? How long does it take? How big is the needle? Would it bleed?

It hurts just a tad bit. But not enough to make you cry or anything. In piercing parlors, yes they numb it. You get it done illegally by a friend or something, most likely they won't. It takes like 5 seconds. The needles kinda long, and it's as big as whatever size gage belly button you're going to use. It will bleed just a little. It takes a few months to heal. Use salt water to clean it. It will help it heal too. Hope I helped!

When I got my belly button pierced, I didn't experience any pain. You can ask the piercer to numb the area around your belly button but it won't make that much of a difference, at least I think. The overall piercing doesn't take too long, probably a few minutes, since the piercer needs to explain everything afterwards. As for the needle, it's about the size of the width of a barbel/ring. You won't see any blood, since the piercer is going to take a clamp, to pull your skin, so it won't bleed. If you play around with the ring after your belly button is pierced, it may hurt.

hey hun i got my pierced at 15 and id didn't hurt there is pressure though, and kinda stings but it doesn't hurt trust me. no they wouldn't numb you. The needle is straight in and out but the healing can go for about 2 months to 8 months. The needle isn't that big in thickness its very think like sewing needle but a little bit longer dont look at it though trust me. Mine barily bled but yes it bleeds but very little usually and only when you get it done it doens't bleed in the healing process. I recomend you do the salt water treatment 3 times or 2 times a day and use Avon if they have it. its a soap that has like no alchohol or something like that. Don't use regular dial soap or anything scented. Don't tuch it and make sure you get a regular half bar not a loop because those can get caught on your clothing. When you get it done dont wear tight clothing.

hey my names amanda. i got my belly button pierced 2 yrs ago...it is scary at first but it is worth it trust me. just dont look at the needle and you will be fine. it feels almost like a bee sting but alittle worse and i couldnt sit down after i had gotten it done. it bleeds alittle bit afterwards from the needle. the needle is like 2 and a hald inches long and alittle thick. they do not numb it and it only hurts for a minute. dont worry because after you get it done you can show all your friends and they will be jealous of how sexy you look with it afterwards! so it is completely worth it. but you will have to clean the piercing like crazy! it is so painful when it is infected! so be sure you clean it regularly and play with it a lot also

My friend Hollie got her belly button pierced last week and she says it just feels like a bee sting. I don't think that they numb your belly button they put alcohol on it before they pierce it though. My friend told me that the needle was like a medium sized sewing needle. I'm not sure if it bleeds or not but my guess is that it will. It doesn't take that long.

hey, i just got mine done like a couple weeks ago. i was so freakin' nervous, i was asking everyone i knew the same questions you are. it hurts for about two seconds when they put the needle in, but after that it's nothing. it's like a little pinch. for me, they didn't numb anything. the piercing itself only took a couple seconds, but the whole process (cleaning, marking the spot w/ a pen, putting the clamp on) took a couple minutes. the needle isn't really that big, but i didn't really pay attention. as far as bleeding goes, it may bleed a tiny bit. it really depends on you're skin type. but it's nothing where you have to like put a bandaid on it or anything. looking back i couldn't believe i was so nervous, after she did it i was like, "whoa you're done?" i was so happy i went through with it. so don't worry about it, it really isn't that bad at all. good luck! =)
