calculator virus

About every 3 minutes or so, my computer opens up the calculator from windows! i used it once the other day, but i didnt do anything that would give me a virus. i dont know whats going on. any ideas on what it is and how to get rid of it? ALL FIVES

go to www.grisoft.com and download AVG anti-virus.
It's a free anti-virus program.
Run it and keep it on your computer.

This is the first time I've ever heard of the calculator popping up.
If it's not a viurs then it will most likely be a spyware
or malware program of some sort.

thats crazy. mine just started doing it today too! I don't know what to do about it. I am going to scan my computer to see if that helps but we will see.

Was gonna give the same answer as TimmyTM.

If this does not work then I ain't sure why it's doing it

I had the same prob a wihle back and I did pretty much the same as he advised and it worked.

Time to go trolling through the registry (regedit.exe), looking for any instance of calc.exe using the find feature. If it says anything other than "This is the calculator", just delete it.

Standard procedure. Also check msconfig, but I have a feeling it's not in there.

Look it up on the company's website. See if they have any information on that. If not, then call the company where you can talk to someone about it. You can explain what's going wrong, and they can probably tell you what to do to fix it =)
