Maybe you might scare them off if you buy a "private property" sign and stick that on your lawn to, since that says "violaters will be prosecuted" (you'd probably have to do more than just buy the sign though to have one...I dunno I've never used one but I've seen tons) and then if they take it you can get them for trespassing too! Thats really rude of them though...they need to leave others property alone even if they dont agree with the judge. Pffh I hope you do catch them! [ jenymca's advice column | Ask jenymca A Question ]

xXxpinky615xXx answered Sunday October 16 2005, 1:38 pm: First of all, whoever is doing that should know it's illegal.
Anyway, you should try to put up servalence near a window. Get a camera and keep it plugged in near the window. If while the camera is on, someone steals the sign notify the police and have them review the tapes. They can be arrested for that.
Or, if you don't want to be going through the trouble of purchasing a camera, or sitting and watching a few hours of tape to see who took it, you can just notify the police first and see what they can do about it. [ xXxpinky615xXx's advice column | Ask xXxpinky615xXx A Question ]
DancinCutie08 answered Sunday October 16 2005, 1:12 pm: well maybe take them down during the night or watch for people. the closer you keep them to your house(mainly a door or window) the less likely they will get stolen [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
xKABOOM answered Sunday October 16 2005, 1:03 pm: Yes. You can get the person in trouble with the law for doing this. It's property invasion. You can probably get them charged for vandalism, robbery, or harassment. What you should do is find out who the person is who keeps stealing the sign, then call the police and ask what they can be charged for and what you should do about it, they'll be able to help you from that point. Mackenzie answered Sunday October 16 2005, 11:51 am: That's flat out illegal. Do you know who's doing it?? I was JUST reading a story on a stolen Presidential sign NOOO more than 20 seconds ago!! I think I'll link you up to some pages..
One link is a short story of a man whose Presidential sign was stolen and what he did about it. It's written by him, so I found it to be quite interesting:
jealousyxo answered Sunday October 16 2005, 11:42 am: i think thats vandalism, and its on a private property so it against the law to do that. You should call the police and file a report, when you catch the them because they broke the law.Im guessing their teenagers who think its funny to take things off peoples property.Hope i could help you out! and i hope you catch them!
