What probably happened is your AIM program got deleted in the process of getting rid of your virus.

Try this:
Go to www.aim.com and redownload the AIM program. After its downloaded, try logging in.

Go to [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and go to the bottom of the page. Click on "Download AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition Now!" and you'll be good to go from there. It's the anti-virus software that I use and it works really well for me. Also...you may want to download something like Ad-Aware...it catches tracking cookies and stuff that a virus scan wouldn't. Good luck!
