Yes, well losing weight is actually not one of the positives you actually in some cases gain weight. Not a lot, just a little. Positive effects that come out of taking the birth control pill, is that you won't have to worry about getting pregnant as it is 99.99999% safe. Also the sex is much better if you have a steady partner, and knowledge of his sex record and health record. If you're not with a steady partner use a condom, to protect against diseases. Your boobs get a little bigger, which was a definite plus for me. lol. It does infact lighten your period as well as cut it down to less than seven days. There's a possibility that it could help you from getting cancer in your uteris, and it also regulates your period AND reduces the pain you may get with period cramps. So, in the end, being on the pill can be great, it's just that you have to remember to take them everyday at the same time. Oh yes, another thing to mention, it clears your pimples up on your face, yay! Anyway, the pill you have to take everysingle day not when your pregnant, you have to go to your doctor, get a PAP SMEAR (ugh) and see what pill would suit your body best! Then the doctor will give you a prescription if everything's good and healthy! Good Luck!

Do not ever get the shot birthcontrol if u wanna lose weight. everyone i know gained weight on it. my friend she is 5'2 and she was 103 and after the shot she was 150. I used the patch witch i really like. you just change the little thin patch once a week for a month then th last week leave it off. An you can put it on your upper back, butttox, side of your tummy. Or whatever works for u. The good things i would say good about birth control is you always no when your period is so there is no mess, buts thats all i can say.
hope i helped

To repeat what others have said already: you shouldn't take birth control if you think you are pregnant or are pregnant. Birth control pills are taken daily to prevent you ovulating, which means that if you are sexually active, you are (98-99%) protected from becoming pregnant. So if you are sexually active and don't want to become pregnant, it's a good idea to take birth control.

Taking birth control, either by taking the pill (the most common method) or by injection or patch means that you're taking extra hormones which prevent you ovulating. These extra hormones have different effects on different women, and some women find it doesn't agree with them. For others, birth control is a saviour, as it can (and I stress can - it really isn't the case for everyone) eliviate menstrual cramps and PMS, and will almost always make your periods shorter and lighter. If you really suffer during your period, having lighter and shorter periods because of the pill can make you feel a lot better. There are other effects that some people enjoy, including improved skin if you suffer from acne and an increase in breast size.

Remember going on the pill or another method of hormonal birth control is a medical decesion. There are beneficial effects, but you should talk to your doctor about whether it's a good idea for you and your circumstances. All the best.

Yes, you can take birth control when you are not pregnant. It helps lower your testosterone and produce estrogen, therefore making your periods shorter and lighter (although, I'd have to say that doesn't always work). It can either make you lose weight or gain weight. It helps control insolin problems and et cetera.

i think that one of the side effects of birth control is that you actually gain weight, not lose it. but you dont take birth control when you think you are or when you are pregnant. you take it to prevent becoming pregnant, i think thats the positive effect right there, is the "to prevent becoming pregnant" part. but dont take my word for the weight thing, you should just google birth control, itd be a lot more helpful.

The Pill does make you lose weight. But be careful, because the Pill is also supposed to increase your risks of acne.

I know i had to get on birth control to control my cramps. So i'd say it somewhat reduces them a bit. at least they did for me. and another positive would be that you never get any "suprises" you always know when its going to be

first of all, birth control is for when you are NOT pregnant, it is sued to avoid pregnancy and can not be used if already pregnant. so yes, you can use it if you are not pregnant.
some positive effects are, as you said, lightening your period and helps get rid of cramps! You don't gain as much water weight, and you never have to worry about getting pregnant in case you have a "spur of the moment" romance, lol.
lotz of love*

Positive effects would be a lighter period, not as much acne, your PMS symptoms aren't as bad.

It doesn't help you lose weight. If anything, you gain weight from it. It goes right to your boobs pretty much.

And being on birth control can ONLY be taken if you are NOT pregnant. If you THINK you are, then you shouldn't take it.
