Lastnight ... when i was just walking in my house ... my knee buckled, popped(i heard it) and i just fell to the ground. For the first 10 minutes it burned, and i coodnt get off the ground. My dad helped me up ... and i coodnt put any weight on it. I got thru the night ... but still this morning, its not better. It just feels like theres a giant bruise on it ... and i cant put much weight on it at all. Im going to the doctors soon. Do yu know whats wrong? Am i gunna need crutches or something?

The same thing happened to me, only I was kneeling down and it happened when I stood up. Is your leg locked in place? If so, be prepared for a couple weeks of crutches and knee braces. There is also a chance you tore your meniscus, but I highly doubt it. Just limit your walking for a week or two, do a lot of lounging around. But make sure to take AWESOME care of it, my knee still hurts from time to time. Oh yeah, you'll probably need physical therapy as well. Everything should be ok. And if it is dislocated, they will have to pop it back into place, which hurts pretty badly, but it's okay. Just hope nothing worse happened to it! I'm not completely sure what to do in this situation, unfortunately. The only thing I can think of is to stay off of it, as much as possible! I'm assuming I wouldn't have to suggest pain medicine, correct? Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Mortrin, Extra-Strength Advil, as so on. Also, I think it'd be a good idea to keep it elevated, to prevent any swelling that might occur. To keep it elevated, you can just lay on your bed with a couple of pillows stacked under the knee to prop it up.
x3candiigrl answered Friday October 7 2005, 12:11 pm: You may have a fracture which is close to a break. You will need crutches, unless they find out it isnt bad. I used crutches and at first it was fun but it hurts and it sux after a while. I hope you feel better. n i hope i helped ya
SweetxxIntoxication answered Friday October 7 2005, 11:58 am: if you cant put much weight on it, chances are you are going to get cruches, which they arent that bad, doctors show you how to use them, and it doesnt take to long to get used to them.
im not sure what is wrong, but the doctors will make sure your first to find out ;].
hope you get better soon ♥ [ SweetxxIntoxication's advice column | Ask SweetxxIntoxication A Question ]
