I know absolutely nothing about birth control. But I would like to say though, that nobody on here is in the position to tell you what method of birth control is best for you. Only a doctor who is familiar with you and your health needs can tell you which form of birth control you should use. My advice to you would be to schedule an appointment with a doctor and ask about it. Mention any concerns you may have, and ask any questions that pop into your mind. Your sexual health is an important thing..which is why I don't think you should be asking people on here, since everybody is different and something that works well for one person might not be the best option for another. One more thing, though. Remember that birth control doesn't protect against STD's, and that unless you both have been tested for all STD's and are both not having sex with anybody else, you should still use condoms even after you've found a birth control plan that fits your life. Hope that helped. Stay safe, darling. <3

The shots work as well as the pill I think. You have the added convenince of not having to remember to take it every day. :)

Here are some sites that may help you decide.

I'm currently on the depo-shot. The three month shot. It's good to use, some people gain weight, I never did, I lost weight in fact. No horrible headaches or sickness. It stops your period though, so that's always a plus!

I was told though by my doctor that you should really take calcium pills or something with it. It does something to the calcium in your bones. So yeah. Depo works for me =)

Well, I think you should talk to your doctor, and he should too. You should both get tested for STDs before you have sex. Anyways, to the birth control. Good for you saying that condoms aren't good enough! Because they aren't! Condoms were made for preventing the spread of disease, not pregnancy. And they can break. So that was very good thinking on your part. A lot of birth control is very risky. They say the best form of birth control is not having sex, but obviously you've made up your mind about that. Birth control pills are okay, but they are not 100%. They increase risk of heart attack, and are especially bad if you smoke. There are a lot of other things, but none of them are 100% and they can all be risky. So definitely talk to your doctor about this before you do anything. My mom was on birth control and she got pregnant...then she had a miscarriage. So you CAN still get pregnant while on birth control. Like I said, nothing is 100%.
