xHC0Barbi3x answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 9:18 pm: ♥ Hey girl,
I think its up to you. So many people are like OMG Your gonna get TSS (toxic shock syndrom). honestly that is so rare. You should still be careful, but you shouldnt worry yourself. You can either leave it in the whole day. But make sure you change it right after you get home from school. Or you can take a tampon to school & change it in the middle of the day. If you are going to leave it in the whole day, make sure that you are on your period for sure. People that got TSS left theire tampons in for like 24 hours. Im sure you will be fine. If you have anything else to ask, feel free to ask me. Good luck hun. ♥ Love, Lauren [ xHC0Barbi3x's advice column | Ask xHC0Barbi3x A Question ]
LoveNJstyle answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 7:17 pm: ok to avoid a TSS, no longer than 8 hours. to avoid leaks, no more than 4. before school (like at 630) put in a tampon. go to the bathroom every so often and at about 11 change it again. basically you just have to do it once. but do carry at least one extra just incase it doesnt last or you put it in wrong and have to try again. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
confusedbabii answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 6:11 pm: a tampon should only be in your body for 8 hours at the most. if you have a tampon in for more than 8 hours, you're risking getting TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrom). hope i helped!!
tasuki answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 5:48 pm: Nine hours is definitely risking it. You should change your tampon once while you are at school. I'm pretty sure the maximum amount of time it should be in is eight hours, and I wouldn't even keep it in that long. So if I were you, I'd put one in in the morning, then change it in the middle of the day like at lunch or something, then take it out when you get home. advicegodesses2 answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 5:39 pm: Hey,
You're supposed to change your tamon every 2-3 hours.
OnlyTheRightAnswers answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 5:37 pm: You should definitely not have it in for 9 hours. The maximum on the packaging is usually 8 hours but I would say depending on how heavy, just stick to 6 hours to be safe. Having a tampon in too long can cause an infection, so I would also suggest maybe having the tampon in for 6 or 7 hours then just using an ultra thin pad for the rest of the day in school so there isn't always something blocking the flow. I know a lot of people say pads feel like diapers, but just try the ultra thins, you really can't feel them at all. [ OnlyTheRightAnswers's advice column | Ask OnlyTheRightAnswers A Question ]
Karen answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 5:14 pm: Leaving a tampon in for a long period of time, such as nine hours, is not good and it can lead to problems. You need to find a time during the day at school to change your tampon. You can do this before lunch or while you have a free block. A tampon should be changed every five hours or so, depending on your flow. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
