I told the nurse and she gave me some mesh undies to wear and gave me a large pad to put on right before surgery. I was incredibly worried about the catheter being tugged on by the pad and worried about the bleeding etc. First of all, when I woke from surgery the last thing on my mind was my period. The nurses took great care of me. They changed my pads and cleaned me up and although it may sound embarrassing, it's their job and they do it all of the time! You'll be fine. Good luck with your surgery! [ amach24's advice column | Ask amach24 A Question ]

karenR answered Monday October 3 2005, 12:42 am: You should get it and be done with it by then. If not, it won't matter. Tell a nurse or have mom do it and she will take care of you. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
pinksoccersox answered Sunday October 2 2005, 7:28 pm: it is your doctor and nurses job to take care of you. if you're on you period or get your period, just tell them. don't go into the surgery with out telling them if you're on your period. that could lead to complications depending on what type of surgery it is. icey0990 answered Sunday October 2 2005, 6:00 pm: well you cant help your period. the nurses and doctors deal with this all the time...so it will be routine for them if you have your period. they will suppply you wiith stuff and take care of you. i know its not the answer you want to hear, because nobody wants to be in the hospitol during their period, but it happens [ icey0990's advice column | Ask icey0990 A Question ]
