I just want you to know that I had a 6 hour back surgery last year, during the beginning of a heavy period. I told the nurse and she gave me some mesh undies to wear and gave me a large pad to put on right before surgery. I was incredibly worried about the catheter being tugged on by the pad and worried about the bleeding etc. First of all, when I woke from surgery the last thing on my mind was my period. The nurses took great care of me. They changed my pads and cleaned me up and although it may sound embarrassing, it's their job and they do it all of the time! You'll be fine. Good luck with your surgery!

Well Ithink that there are pills that give you only 4 periods a year...arent there? and if not well if you were supposed to start on thursday then it will be coming soon...if not you should probably tell the doctors before they opperate on you because you want them to be aware so you know what to do and its possible that you could be pregnant so you definatly want to tell the doctors first.

Hope I Helped! =)

You should get it and be done with it by then. If not, it won't matter. Tell a nurse or have mom do it and she will take care of you. :)

it is your doctor and nurses job to take care of you. if you're on you period or get your period, just tell them. don't go into the surgery with out telling them if you're on your period. that could lead to complications depending on what type of surgery it is.

This is going to sound weird, but just put on a pad or a tampon before you go in for surgery. Depending on what the surgery is, since you didn't say, they might not have a reason to even go near there.

So just put on a tampon or pad before you go under. Make sure it's a maxi though.

well you cant help your period. the nurses and doctors deal with this all the time...so it will be routine for them if you have your period. they will suppply you wiith stuff and take care of you. i know its not the answer you want to hear, because nobody wants to be in the hospitol during their period, but it happens
