Ok, i haven't gotten my period since middle JULY. My mom is getting worried but i keep saying nothings wrong. BUt im not so sure. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
actresschica answered Monday October 3 2005, 3:32 pm: I didn't get mine for almost 3 months once and it's scary. If you've had sex you need to go to the doctor and get checked for pregnancy or STDs. If you haven't gone past 2nd and you know you're clean, wait another month. You might be stressed or very physically active. If you're still scared go to the doctor because it's always better to be safe. [ actresschica's advice column | Ask actresschica A Question ]
Mackenzie answered Sunday October 2 2005, 11:04 pm: Some girls who participate in lots of sports or that exercise frequently may actually stop menstruating regularly; and that's all fine, dandy and normal.
Another thing to consider: have you been really stressed lately?? Stress is another reason someone might skip their cycle.
Also, eating disorders can cause this, definitely. What happens is, when a female is eating very little and getting thinner and thinner, Amenorrhea [the medical term for no periods] might set it.
Here's a thought for ya: an imbalance in some hormone levels can also lead to missed cycles or irregular bleeding.
Honestly, July.. August.. September.. October.. 4 months - that's quite a long time. This may not be what you want to hear, but seeking a medical opinion would be a good idea right about now... Hopefully all goes well!! [: [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
AlmedinsChica answered Sunday October 2 2005, 10:30 pm: well, the first question should be- are you active? (as in sexually)....if so, you might want to take a pregnancy test just in case....if you're not, then you should go see your doctor because some girls tend to get irregular periods which can be like 4 months apart or just every month different days. Hope that helps!! [ AlmedinsChica's advice column | Ask AlmedinsChica A Question ]
xXxpinky615xXx answered Sunday October 2 2005, 6:03 pm: If you are sexually active, there is a possibility of pregnancy.
But if you're not, it's completely normal. Alot of women get their period randomly. It doesn't come on a regular basis. How long have you had your period? Because, the first 3-4 years your period is never regular. [ xXxpinky615xXx's advice column | Ask xXxpinky615xXx A Question ]
Karen answered Sunday October 2 2005, 5:29 pm: If you stress and worry a lot, it delays your period. Your period is going to be irregular for the next few years. You may notice patterns but they'll eventually change. Don't worry about this; your period will start again. This is normal and you're not the only one who is having this problem. xxoBriannax answered Sunday October 2 2005, 5:21 pm: Sometimes girls' periods are like that. You can go to the doctor. It may be because you don't eat healthy or just because your hormones are out of whack. [ xxoBriannax's advice column | Ask xxoBriannax A Question ]
LoveNJstyle answered Sunday October 2 2005, 5:20 pm: hahaha my friend gets hers every other month (shes had it for like 2-3 years tho) and her mom thought she was pregnant and got pretty mad. its normallllll!! my other friend hasnt had hers since begining of august so it your at a HEALTHY weight for you body type and eat, you are fine. if you are sick, underweight, on a diet or overly active (3 hours swimming plus 2 hours of soccer daily, for example), then you have a problem. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
ncblondie answered Sunday October 2 2005, 5:18 pm: Your period can go stop coming for a variety of reasons. Are you under a lot of stress? Are you sick? Have you changed your diet or exercise regimen? These can all make your period disappear.
