For Halloween I want to be a person from like the 1800's and I know what I'm going to wear but I want to know make-up to wear. Should I wear like nuetral, brown eyeliner, peach eyeshadow, pink blush? Thanks.
Mackenzie answered Wednesday October 5 2005, 4:58 pm: Make up was most certainly not a big to-do back then. I say (for dramatic purposes), a nice 'rose' blush would probably be all you need. And if you think you'd like more than that, try a very very suttle pink lip stick. And as far as eye liner goes, I wouldn't. ;] [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]

actresschica answered Saturday October 1 2005, 11:07 pm: Go VERY natural. Try a very light pink blush with eye shadow that you can't even tell you're wearing (no sparkles, etc.) Wear a dusty pink nonglossy gloss on your lips that looks like it's been painted on and dried. At that time, only the lower-class was tanned from working outside, so I'd opt for a very pale powdered look. The women of the era were limited in terms of a lot of cosmetics so I'd keep it simple overall. Also, it was considered culturally unacceptable to wear your hair down in public if you were of any aristocratic background. Again, research online and find a 'look' you are going for. Then you can buy cosmetics accordingly.

Wear really bright makeup. Bright blues, hot pink, lime green stuff like that. The 80's was all about the neon colors. Remember to have fun.
