Imperialistic answered Thursday September 29 2005, 7:34 pm: Try aiming for a waterproof eyeliner as it stays on for quite a bit and use a well-known brand, i.e. Covergirl or Maybelline.
Dollar store eyeliner are priced at a lower rate but aren't usually as efficient. [ Imperialistic's advice column | Ask Imperialistic A Question ]
imanaligator answered Thursday September 29 2005, 4:50 pm: same thing happens to me, this seems to work though-
first put pressed powder over your lids, put on your eyeliner as usual, get a small eyeshadow brush and retrace your eyeliner with eyeshadow in the same colour (most likely black, right?) the eyehadow sets the liner and gives a more subtle look. xHlaxstarWx answered Wednesday September 28 2005, 6:30 pm: Buy a different eyeliner and maybe it won't happen. Maybe even put it on when you get to your locker in the morning. I use it and it stays on the next day. So I suggest buying a different kind. [ xHlaxstarWx's advice column | Ask xHlaxstarWx A Question ]

dreamist16 answered Wednesday September 28 2005, 9:34 am: ok this is what i think,
i think you should get a better brand of eyeliner, for example i use wet 'n wild and loud music, and jonaana. you can find wet n' wild at krogers and cvs and other drugstores.
they all work very well on me and also if u have trouble putting them on, take a lighter and make the eyeliner melt a little so it easy to put on.
Igotamonopoly answered Wednesday September 28 2005, 12:31 am: If you put it right inside your eye, notonly does it make your eyes look small, the tear fluid there wears it off. Put eyeliner UNDER your eye, and you don't need it on top. 3 coats of black mascara and you're done!! [ Igotamonopoly's advice column | Ask Igotamonopoly A Question ]

Mackenzie answered Tuesday September 27 2005, 9:32 pm: Have you considered this: are you comfortable with your tool? Do you use liquid or pencil? And are you happie with what you use, brand and type and the whole shebang?? If not, then I suggest experimenting until you find one that is more cozy and suitable to your needs.
When it comes to liquid eye liner or pencil eye liner, it's just a personal preference as to which we use. Certain things suit certain people. However, if you ask... chances are that most people will tell you that pencil is a better choice for them. It's a great start for a beginner who is just getting used to it. If you mess up, pencil is A WHOLE LOT easier to clean up and re-do than liquid is. Also, if you plan on carrying it around in a purse or pocket.. you risk the chance that the liquid may ruin [though I don't suggest carrying eye liner in your pocket]. If you DO mess it up, just take a tissue and slowly run it along the rim of your eye lid.. it'll come right up.
Now, the desired effect of eye liner is to create the illusion of darkness just above the lashline to enhance the look of the lashes. To apply it, gently hold your eye lid down, and start at the inner part of the lid [closest to your nose]. Then just simply draw a thin line smoothly and evenly along the top and bottom lid, getting as close to the lashes as possible. If it looks like there is a space between the liner and your lashes, then I guess you just have to thicken the line a bit. Or, if you'd rather have a very thin line, I guess you just have to try again. One last thing, make shore you draw the line all the way to the outside corner.
If you're still experiencing difficulties, don't get discourage. It will probably take some practice -- it took me a while at first too. Now, I have it down incredibly well!!
And as for products, I think the two best brands of eye liner out there are "Meryl Norman" and "Beautique". "Meryl Norman", which can only be purchased at "The Meryl Norman Cosmetic Studios", is pricey [typically $8.50 - $15.00], but it REALLY IS good stuff. It goes on wonderfully, and stays on all day! On the other hand... I happen to think that "Beautique" is INCREDIBLE!! However, I've ONLY seen "Beautique" at "Sally's". Good news though, it's only .99 cents. TRUST ME.. I would NEVER EVER EVER buy crap make up!!! I get only the best, so please, please, please, please DON'T let this dollar price throw you off - you'd be cheating yourself out of the best product out there!! I'd *PREFER* "Beautique" out of ANY other brand of eye liner on the market!! I could easily go out and buy a $15.00 pencil, but I'd RATHER get "Beautique"! "Beautique" glides on smoothly and REALLY LASTS ALLLLL DAY!!! I CAN NOT promote this item enough!! And if you still have doubts... for only .99 cents.. it's worth a shot!! [:
I'm sorrie for the long reply. I get too into these make up questions, but if you'd like further assistance, don't hesitate to ask! Goodluck! :D [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
xXxpinky615xXx answered Tuesday September 27 2005, 9:30 pm: Eyeliner never ever stays on long. The best eyeliner I've used is by Revlon. I BELIEVE it's in a black stick, with a gold cap. It glides on really easy and it goes on thick and stays longer. Regular pencil ones (The ones you sharpen) won't last as long. [ xXxpinky615xXx's advice column | Ask xXxpinky615xXx A Question ]
