Hey everyone! I want to host a New Year's party, but I need serious help. It should obviously be a sleepover, but should I make it coed and have the guys just leave at midnight and then the girls would sleep over? What could we do? I don't want it to be boring, and I have a huge backyard. I am a girl, and I want the party to be of about 40 people. I would want 25 girls and 15 guys, because I know more girls. Can you help me?

If you have a sleepover, make sure you have enough space for everyone to stay. (that should be obvious) Since you say you have a huge backyard, you could have your friends bring tents and camp in your yard if the weather is suitable. (that really depends on where you are)
For that matter, make sure you have enough space for all your guests. Of course, keep in mind that some of the people you invite might not be able to go.
Movies are always good for keeping your guests entertained, if you can find a movie that you think everyone will like.
Playing cards are good too, since most people will know how to play.

yes i would love to help! ok so you want to use your backyard..im assuming you live somewhere like florida where there wont be any snow? if there will be snow..go sledding and stuff..if there wont be any snow you can talk to your close friends and maybe they will have lights you can hang in your backyard..maybe they can pitch in abnd bring some sodas..snacks..food is a must haha. ordering pizza is easy enough..serving something simple like hotpockets, sandwhiches, etc sounds fine. Music..have music set up..cds..depending on where you live and how the weather is..maybe like a slip n slide, water balloon fight, ..other games are

All you really need to do is the standard party idea. Just buy enough food, pretzels, chips and doritoes and the stupid party souvineers like the 2006 glasses, streamers, noise makers. Bottom line--you will rember it and they won't being loaded. I do hope you consider a no booze policy--you are in trouble if they get into trouble at the party or outside of it. Keep beer off your premiseses and shoot for a manageable number of people. 50 people out of control drunk is a bad scenario to be in. [ GDROB's advice column | Ask GDROB A Question ]
