Why do you ask a question you cant handle the answer to?
Question Posted Friday September 23 2005, 4:20 pm
I just wondered this.
I answer questions, and its getting interesting. The people who generally need answers the most are the immature ones. But when you give them an honest answer, they reject it, and rate you a 1.
Example is this question, asked by a stupid little girl in the pinnacle of her selfish years. She wants to know what she should do because she wants to hook up with a boy who has a girlfriend
I couldnt care less about my rating, but its the response the rating means that kinda bugs. Dismissed out of hand because my response didnt tell her its ok to fuck up what might be a genuinely good relationship because she wants to hook up with the guy.
To all of you girls in similar situations, Dont be a slut. Its not flattering.
Additional info, added Friday September 23 2005, 5:22 pm: Just adding, I dont need info on how to change the rating. Like I said, what my rating is doesnt matter.
Ive run three different advice communities on livejournal when I was really into the advice thing. This is just another website.
The rating was brought up only because its an example of how these immature little brats "retaliate". Im sure the girl in question is sitting in her little room thinking "oh I sure showed him" and considering how she can be even more of a slut.
I hope she reads this post. . Want to answer more questions in the Technology category? Maybe give some free advice about: Advicenators? LadyGoodman answered Sunday September 25 2005, 8:39 pm: haha ... I totally know what you mean. This one girl wanted to get back with her ex boyfriend who sounded like a jerk off, and I simply responded that he's an ex for a reason. She rated me a 1 and said "loser." Wow, I'm SO HURT! You called me a loser and rated me a 1! How can I go on?!
Actually, I just sat there and had a good laugh about it. If you don't tell these girls what they want to hear, they get all defensive. It's quite cute, really. ...barf. [ LadyGoodman's advice column | Ask LadyGoodman A Question ]
Belladonna answered Friday September 23 2005, 9:53 pm: That happens too often with me. I don't feel I should sugarcoat things just because it's what people want to hear, and thus I get a low rating. If people want to blind themselves, and think that everything is going to go going their way, they need a wake up call. The world is a shit place, it doesn't help pretending it isn't. karenR answered Friday September 23 2005, 5:13 pm: Oh yes, There are a lot of those kind of questions out there.
Basically, the majority of them want to hear only what they want to hear. If not that, they are looking for someone to just agree with their warped logic.
The problem is figuring out who's who. Because occasionally you do come across one who will give you a good rating because they honestly want help.
If someone really gives you an undeserved 1, file an abuse report and you might get it changed. More than likely you won't get a 5 but you won't have that 1 either. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]

I hate getting ones from people when I tell them thier behavoir is slutty or just damn inappropraite. Or when I tell them it should be thier boyfriend they should be worried about not if the other guy is really into them or not.
And people wonder why so many of us have trouble taking young relationships seriously. It seems like most of the young people in and around them don't even take them seriously!
