I'm about 10, 15 pounds overweight and I'm trying to lose weight. I've always heard diet and exercise, but since I'm not EXTREMELY overweight, would it really matter if I went on a diet and instead just exercised. Would it work? I mean yes I would cut back on food a bit (especially snacks) but I don't eat too unhealthy anymore especially since I stayed at about the same weight for the passed yr. (I gained about three pounds when I've gained the extra 15 from three years before, thats about 5 a year and I cut down my food and only gained 3!) The problem is I am terrible at exercise, I hate running and playing and bikeriding but I've also put off exercise so I never really was very active. So, if I get on a schedule and actually DID my workouts, could I just stick with my regular diet I'm on now? (Except add breakfast, I've heard that helps and probably eat lunch every day (unless I REALLY hate the school lunch or forget money) Right now I don't eat breakfast, I hardly eat lunch, I eat a snack when I get home (usually chips) and dinner (except on some weekends I may get hungry at night and eat). Thanks!
Also, if anybody has any exercises I can do to work my legs (upper and lower), stomach, and butt that would be much appreaciated also!!

Maybe give some free advice about: Fitness? autumn answered Wednesday September 28 2005, 10:20 pm: for your body try getting some weights and lifting them, for your food, eat at least 3 healthy meals a day. your body can burn off more fat when you exersize if you eat complex meals with healthy carbs. for exersizing, try to find something that you like doing. maybe swimming, walking, biking, or basketball. make your exersizing a bit harder every week, and don't forget to take a day or two to rest your body and muscles. drink plenty of water ad get good sleep. good luck! GDROB answered Monday September 19 2005, 6:56 pm: First of all your eating habits are all screwed up knowing from experience. You absolutely have to have breakfast, lunch and dinner for this to work for you. Breakfast is simple, have oatmeal and a banana and some juice. That's meal one. Lunch, a sandwhich, apple and juice and be done. Dinner, something light, low in fat and finish it off with a glass of milk.
Pop, ice-cream, cookies have to be illiminated totally and that can be done. I have done it so can you. The problem is you want to eat after dinner having missed meals and your body is telling you eat this etc. That's making you gain more and defeating you.
What can you or should you do then? You need to see your doctor, get weighed, learn your BMI index numbers and what weight you need to be. Next, ask him/her for a dietitian. This person will put you on a diet that is low fat and will in fact tell you what to eat and give recipies. Follow them and never go off of that.
I after being in hospital twice in '03 and '04 weight 188 which I am supposed to be but went as high as 230 because of the drugs wanting me to eat. I am now back to 188 and can do 180. and by the way... i think i`m overweight but all ym friends think i`m skinny. So you should go on like www.amifat.com and enter height and weight and stuff to see if your really are a little overweight and it`s not just your poor self immage. hope i helped babe !
