its about a board game
okay this is kind of messed up but my friend and i were arguing about if chess was a board game i say its not its more of a board game or something you do for a hobby he thinks the opposite

I think your argument is weak. For better arguments in the future, see who punches harder. Just make a fist and punch him in the face as hard as you can. He'll do the same to you.

In chess, a board is used. Thus, considering it a "board game".
If you play chess a lot and enjoy it, then it is considered a hobby. So, technically, it can be both.

well, if you are in like chess club, or you do it reguraly, or if you like reasurch it, then i think it is a hobby.
but if you play it sometimes, and like just for fun, not like "if i dont win this game, i'll break my 204 winning streak for toady"
then thats just a board game'
