Putting it in might hurt the first time, just because you're not use to it. The reason it hurt when you immediantly took it out was because it was dry-usually after it's been in a while it comes out easily. Try using a plastic applicator, the ones called "slim fits" for a light flow. They're smaller and then when you get use to that you can start using the ones that are correct for your 'flow'.

Okay, listen up. Girls that have never used tampons will hurt. The reason being is you are tight. I'll bring in a story that may not be about tampons, but it'll still prove that point. My boyfriend one time fingered me extremely hard, well it hurt like hell, but I later found out that it was all because I was tight and that was wider than I was, so it causes cramps, aches, and pains. But I got over it like 2 weeks later. So its alright and perfectly normal. You just aren't used to them. And if you actually have blood coming out when you aren't are your period after having a tampon in, relax...you just knocked a piece of skin in there that causes bleeding to occur.

tampons really arent that bad...you just have to get used to them.....it only hurt coming out because it wasnt filled with blood....when its filled then when you pull it out it wont hurt at all....another reason why it could have hurt is because you had it in wrong....you dont need to see a doctor....hope i helped and if you wanna talk feel free to IM me at xoblueyedchicxo

Perhaps you should stick to pads, they are more hygenic after all.

But I think tampons get easier the more you use them. If you are worried about it, maybe a quick chat with your doctor about it would help.
