Question Posted Wednesday September 14 2005, 8:01 am
a couple months ago my parents started me on a "budget" and gave me $200 a month for me to do whatever i want with it. i know it sounds like a lot, but i have to buy all my clothes, pay for our trips for school [small ones] and pay for when i do stuff with friends. i know it's enough, but i always seem to shop on the sales racks for summer clothes that won't fit me next year i would guess. are there some ways i could do jobs for people or save my money better?

I know everyone loves to shop and buy clothes and all, but couldn't you survive without something new for a month or two? Perhaps you could make it a rule that you don't spend any money on clothes for say 3 months, then you can get something really nice in the 4th month.
2. Small Trips. You can't really get out of these, and these are probably more important than clothes and going out with your friends. School trips are there for education purposes. So concentrate your money on these instead. Wouldn't it be so great if you got lots of qualifications, got a kick ass job and could buy as many clothes as you liked, whenever you liked?
3. Going out with your friends. I know when you're out with your friends, you tend to go along with whatever they do. How about going to the park or the seaside instead of going to the cinema or somewhere expensive? You can have just as much fun AND spend any loose change on sweets and ice cream.

i feel your pain, well all i can say is you can have your own budget list of what you spend per week or per month and you stick to it i know its very hard to stay away from the sale items
if you have a budget most people stick to it
if that fails look for a part time job
its also depends on how old you are
