Question Posted Monday September 12 2005, 6:30 am

okay I was brushing my teeth, and then I threw up. It was only like a little cough. Like *cough* and throwup came out while still brushing my teeth.

Is that normal or Is there something wrong about that?

and Is that called making yourself throwup?

If you stuck the toothbrush down too far you could have gagged yourself. If this was the case then yes you made yourself throw up but im guessing it was an accident so you really have nothing to worry about. Just be careful. If you know it wasnt because of that then im sorry. Just a suggestion.

It is normal. It happens to me every so often. It is usually just a little bit, and all you do is quickly find the nearest bathroom and spit it out. If it was a lot (Explosive), you should definately see a doctor, it may be a stomach virus.
And no. Making yourself throw up is when you intentionally do it.

It's so normal that there's even a slang word for it: vurp (vomit+burp). Toothpaste may not have helped - swallowing that stuff is not very good for you. Or it could just be unfortunate timing.

But yeah, that sort of thing is caused by indigestion.

I think it can happen for any reason it's just the peristalsis which churns your food in your stomach gets a little confused. I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps happening.
