Girls: I have used tampons before of course, but never at school. I just started using them over the summer. We have not even 2 mins to go to the bathroom at school, and I'm worried when I'm in the bathroom changing a tampon, some girl will walk in and see me underneath the stall with one leg up. What should I do, any tips? I can flush mine, but what do I do with the applicator and wrapper? The garbage is right by the door, away from stalls. What can I do??

cHeErcHiiCk answered Saturday September 10 2005, 1:29 pm: u dont always have to change your tampon with one leg up. u can sit on the toliet and spread your legs to put it in... this will make it less noticable. now... if you are worried about someone seeing you throw it away...wrap it up in toliet paper when you go to throw it out then people will just think that its a piece of toilet paper.if you dont wanna do that... hu carse if someone sees you...now ii dont no what grade you are in but if your in middle school or highschool chances are that a lot of other girls have their period too. so it wont matter if they see you. if your not in the older schools...well...dont be embarssed...everyone developes at different times... ii got my period in the fith grade and all my friends didnt get it until like 7th or 8th grade... so dont be embarassed just do what you have to do and then its done. also there should be a little trash thing on the side of the stall in the bathroom just for that. look for one and if you dont see one try what ii told you.

How gross is that, not having one. But until that happens, chill out! Just make a ball with your fist which will hide the wrapper et al. To answer your first worry, if you really have as little bathroom time as you say then noone will have time to peek under your stall. Lol Lucretiax. Razhie answered Wednesday September 7 2005, 9:01 pm: What is the problem exactly? You know the majority of the girls in your school will probably have thier period right? Its nothing to be ashamed off.
Please don't flush your tampons. Schools should have proper disposals for them right there in the stall for you. Trust me, flushing your tampon and then watching the toliet overflow is waaaaay more embaressing then anything else.
Just roll your garbage up in some tissue paper and toss it out. If any girl looks at your wierd just smile and say "Being a girl is a such a pain sometimes." They will be able to relate. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]
BeFABULOUSxo answered Wednesday September 7 2005, 7:13 pm: You could wrap it up in toiletpaper and throw it away on your way out I guess. You shouldn't feel awkward because it'll happen to every girl at one point or another. There should be little containers in each stall for that though..
