How do I tell my Dad?

Question Posted Saturday August 20 2005, 7:40 pm

Iam 13 and my Dad still doesnt know I know about sex. Im not even sure he knows Ive started my period.(I live with him but I go shopping for stuff like that when I go to my moms)How can I tell him. I already feel uncomfortable around him enough. And to know he knows all this stuff that ive known for so long and didnt tell him makes me feel weird. How do I brake the news???

Well when I got my period I kinda by accident left a pack of pads out on the counter and he found them so he asked and I was like yeah dad I started. and he was like okay and now I dont even talk to him about that stuff. Maybe you can leave like a pack of pads lying around and let him find them, and be like me and make it simple and say yeah I started. And then just act normal. Good Luck.

He probably already knows you have it, or else he is just figureing that your mom has already taking care of all that stuff, because that is what the mother is supposed to do, maybe do don't know this maybe you want to ask your mom if your dad knows? just to save your the embrassisment

Where it would be best to talk is at home right when you see that he is not too busy.Tell him that there has been something that you feel ashame about that you couldn't tell him about then tell him little by little take your time if you have to.He will understand anyways eventually you'll find out about it.He will probably tell you when to do it or to protect yourself.Good luck!
