okay my crush wants to talk on the phone..and i do too but i hate when there are awkward silences! like it kills me and i never have anything to say. what are some topics i could bring up? and like what things can i say to like lead him on and kinda make him realize i really wanna go out with him but not make myself sound

when there are awkward silences between me and my friends on the phone, one of us will either start to sing randomly, or say the first (or second, because guy friends often need censorship) thing that comes to our minds

talk about sports, like do you snowboard, play basketball start getting into that, and maybe later on in the convo if you both do the same you can go out and do that stuff together!

surveys are good,but sometimes you can ask to many questions. ask him one, and after he has answered it tell him an answer of yours.
never ask him something too personal. that might create some tension. ask him stuff thats like, in general. like favorite movies, actors,pets.
anything that makes just enough conversation to fill in the gaps.

turn on the tv and when there's a silence look at the tv and ask him "Hey, are you watching INSERT SHOW HERE?!" or talk about your favorite reality tv show. Ask him about his favorites.

talk about crazy things you and friends have done
talk about something serious like relationships,family probs, etc
how to hint about wanting to be with him::
bring up movie topic and mention a movie you want to see and tell him "oh i really want to see that one..want to hang out saturday night and see it with me?"

Anything-- just keep it real. Don't talk about boring things like school or homework, but your interests (fave movie, fave kinds of music, etc.). Ask him if he wants to see any movies he wants to see that are coming out in theaters, or ask him what kind of food he likes. Don't go on too strong and say "I like you a lot," 'cause that'll kind of scare him at first. Get to know him, then when the time is right, ask him out.
