Hair Straightener

Question Posted Saturday August 13 2005, 4:35 pm

Hey! Well my hair straightner now is by Hot Tools, it's a ceramic plates one and it works pretty well, but I think it's time for a new one. Lately, this one hasn't been working that well. I've only used 2 hair straighteners in the past year and they're both identical. They used to work pretty well, but lately my hair is just not straight like it used to be. My hair is medium thick, and naturally wavy. Any recommendations for my new hair straightner? + Can you give me any websites where I can just buy it online?

Thanks in advance! I rate 5's.

well, your hair might be just really damaged from so much straightening so, keep the good straightener (but i have heard that chi straighteners work super well) but when you do straighten your hair, put one pump of this creme in your hair before and it will stay soo straight! i use it every time. You can just buy it at a convinience store or anywhere like that. Its by Matrix, and its called glow trix;luminous creme smoother. It is in like a 6 in high bottle that looks kinda like a shaving creme bottle, its dark red. And then when your not straightening your hair, put in neutrogena triple moisture foam or serum, and that helps really keep your hair healthy! i hope that helped lol

if you are willing to spend a lot of money on one like say 75-100$ "CHI" makes THE BEST straighteners and everyone ive ever known to have one has never had to replace it..and it also is a lot better for your hair...
now if you wanna go a little cheaper like say 30-50$ "WET TO STRAIGHT" works extrememly well 2! you can do your hair wet or dry! and it works on all hair types... if you do it when its wet it drys and straightens it... and it also has holes in it so it locks in the moisture by letting the steam come out... its also pretty good for your hair! i dont know what websites but im sure you could just do a search and find it... they sale wet to straight i know at sears and ulta.. and chi you can get at ulta or salleys or trade secret!

hope ya find somethin! ;)

i use helen of troy gold series and it is amazing. it works just as well as those $100 straighters but mine was only $25. if your willing to spend alot of money almost anthying around $50 or up should be pretty good. i also recomend all helen of troy straighters and i would said whatever you do dont get a conair unless your hair is basically naturally straight and thin because they suck!

I have a Revlon one. And it works really good. Its got gold ceramic plates and 20 different heat settings for different types of hair. Its only like 15-20 bucks depending on where your pickin it up at. But it works well. Better then goin out and spendin 100s of dollars on one that works the exact same.

hey
i have the same problem!
my hair used to be really straight only after just a couple of run thrus but lately its been taking about 5 or 6 times for it to get each section straight. lol
im gussing you live in usa, i live in the uk but i use ones by remmington they are quite good but maybe try using ghds? so they have them where you live?
o and try not to use too much product on your hair cos it makes it harder to straighten and also do it when your hair is properly dry cos udder wise it takes ages to straighten!
hope i helped
