Ok here's the deal. This is kind of embarrasing but I wanted to get a new computer, a laptop for school. And I wanted to get rid of my old computer. The thing is, my parents want to buy it, they don't want me to throw it out. Uh, I kinda may have gone on sites that they wouldn't approve of...but they won't take no for an answer of buying it. I'm perfectly ok with throwing it in the dump, but they're not. I'm so afraid somehow they'll find out what sites I went on if they buy it. What do I do!

ViTaChaN answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 4:35 pm: Delete your history..And, you can even auto delete it..You can set your internet up to auto delete the history in every week or even every day..You just have to go to tools, click 'internet options', then you just have to click 'delete cookies.' And if you want to set the auto delete up, find an icon which is saying 'delete history' {it's underneath 'delete cookies' and 'delete history's icon}Hope I helped!

Karen answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 2:23 pm: You just need to delete your history and cookie files by going to Tools, then to Internet Options, and then clear your history, delete your cookies and files, and hit 'OK' and every site you went to should be gone. Britts_Baby_09 answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 2:15 pm: You can erase the sites you have been on by going to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", and "Clear History". Then that should be good. And no one will be able to see the sites you have gone on.
xXxpinky615xXx answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 2:14 pm: You can just erase your history. When you go into the internet click on tools. Go down to Internet Options and look for a button that says Clear History. And all the sites you visited will be GONE. Also, you might want to delete all your cookies. Go to My Computer, Local Disc C:, Documents and Settings, Click on your user, click the folder that says Cookies, and if there is anything in there, DELETE IT ALLLLL Except for the index, because you can't delete that. chocolate_slave answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 2:04 pm: Haha I do this all the time, I'm pretty sure it will work for your computer too since it's only websites. In Internet Explorer, at the top, go to "Tools", "Internet Options", the first thing you come to should have an option to clear all your Internet history. I'm pretty sure all of the other browsers have this function too, you just have to find it.
If there's any files in your computer you don't want your parents to see, cleanse(delete) all your files and if they ask say you shifted it to your other computer, which is something you could do too.
russianspy1234 answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 1:59 pm: ok, are your parents computer experts? if not it should be relatively simple. ill assume you have internet explorer like most people do, if not then send me a question in my inbox and ill sort it out
