this isnt weird!! Hey,
I really want to work(im 16 yrs old and a female), but my parents say that it will take away from my studying time and that im going to start getting bad grades. But i know that i can balance my time. I really want to work so that i can buy me things when i want and i could buy what i want. In this case its easier to convince my mom than my dad. But i really want to start workin. PLEASE give me ways to try to convince them.....i rate 5's for any answer.
Thanx

first show them that your responsible enough, then tell them that it'll be a really good experience for you, and you really want to get your own money so that you can spend it on whatever you want without having to always ask them for things. just ask them for one chance so that you can prove that you can balance your time and stuff.
hope i helped and please rate me!!! ]
Start off by showing them that you are responsible. How so? Do all the chores in the house that need to be done. Make sure you actually do all of your work and not a half-ass job on it either, because you'll regret it. Don't nag them for the job anyway. If you really want to work, and the job itself doesn't matter, try asking for something very small and very easy that does not consume too much time. You don't want to start pulling late nights either. Tell them and also be willing to get all of your work and studying done before you work. Try to get things done, homework and house chores on time, or early if you can, so that they can both see that you have 'free time'. No, don't rush things too fast just to get it done either. I'm sure with a little bit more time they will let you have a job. Good luck! ]
ask them to give you one chance to prove to them that you can balance school and a job. maybe try taking to your mom first it might b able to convince her first then work on your dad. ]
tell them that you actually need the working experiance befor you go out in the world on your own when you're 18 or what ever age. because most jobs do require experiance and will not hire if you dont have what they require. ]

hey well im kind of in the same case i want to work but my parents think that it will colide with study and sports all you have to do is tell your parents that you can work it out tell them to let you get a job know and when school comes if they feel that you are slacking then they can start taking it away ell them that everything deserves a chance .. .. also try to explain to them that your getting to an age in your life were you need to have your own money to by things on your own
hope this helps <33 manda ]
Tell them you will only work parttime ofcourse...and if your grades start slipping, they can tell you to quit anytime. Tell them getting a job will give you a sense of real responsibility..which you will really need in the future...and tell them, getting a job will help you stay away from bad stuff they dont like...such as drugs..drinking..partying..* ]
This might help. I once read an article where the writter said that when his daughter started working, her grades actually got BETTER. You could try to pull that one off. Sorry I couldn't have been of help. ]
You could always use the classic argument of how working teaches students valuable skills such as time management, responsiblilty, and communication.
Good Luck,
