iPod Mini or Zen Micro

Question Posted Saturday August 6 2005, 9:33 am

With the money I get for my birthdy next month I plan to buy some sort of MP3 player. I have been researching it on google. I have come to, two different MP3 players I might consider buying. Zen Micro 4GB or the iPod Mini 4GB. My boyfriend has a iPod mini but I don't know if that is what I want because I'm always hearing people complain about them including my b/f. So before buying either of these do any of you know any pros or cons of either products? any help will be very appreciated. Also of there is any thing tha you feel is better than these products let me know

i dont know what a Zen Micro is but i know iPod Minis need their battery replaced within a year and if you dont send it in to get it replaced before your one-year contract is up then you have to pay around $100 for a new one and you probably already know each song is a dollar so think about like 300 songs each at a dollar so ya a pro is that its cute and its easy to work so ya

My friend has an ipod mini and he has dropped it on concrete and nothing has happened to it. Both brands have their ups and downs, and i have heard of many problems with the ipods, but that is probably only because more people own ipods than Zens. One thing about the Ipods is the battery. that is one reason I have not bought one; the lithium battery does run down and eventually wont hold a charge and then its 50 dollars to replace. I don't know much about the Zen They're both cool, but the ipod is more original. Check the prices too, the 4 gigs have dropped.

I have a zen, and I love it. Also, my sister has an ipod mini, so I know a lot about that, too. Here are pros and cons of both:

Zen Pros:
-looks cooler (in my opinion)
-good battery life
-cheaper
-more colors
-has a voice recorder
-has FM radio
-is unique... not a lot of people have them

Zen Cons:
-Can be a little confusing at first to use... however, once you get used to it, is better than iPods

iPod Pros:
-Very popular (can be pro or con)
-Easy to use

iPod Cons:
-no FM radio
-no voice recorder
-only comes in 4 colors
-Very popular (again, can be pro or con)
-more expensive

So get the Zen! You definitely won't regret it.

I use a 4GB iPod Mini and I haven't had any issues with it that weren't fixable. The only thing that annoys me about it is that sometimes it'll go wonky and I have to reset it..you only hold down two buttons but for some reason mine never likes to reset. I like the click wheel, using it is very simple and intuitive, and it's incredibly easy to set up and use. I'd look around people's ratings of the two products at amazon.com and other sites before deciding what to get.

Get the Zen Micro. You're basically getting the same thing, except cheaper! Plus, it looks so much cooler, and I think that there are more colors to choose from.

I have never heard of the zen, but if you go to
www.apple.com , there is a page with the ipod on it. There are ads and things. Hope I helped!
