If your mouth is sore becoz of sharp spots then you can use wax over them . It really helps for me.
Eat soft foods like mashed potatoes yogurt and ice cream it really makes your mouth feel better . and you can also take Tylonal .. that should help ease the pain .. Well i hope that i helped !!

SWANKiFiED answered Thursday July 21 2005, 8:07 pm: Well I had braces so I know you're feeling a bit uncomfortable. There *IS* some stuff to help you ease the pain though. Your orthadontist should have given you some wax to put on the sharp spots. If not, make sure you request it on your next visit, it's a LIFESAVER! Another thing is to stick to smooth foods. It may be tempting to have something crunchy & delicious but I reccomend yogurt, mashed potatoes, ice cream, jamba juice, starbucks etc. Another thing is to take Advil or any kind of Asprin. Check with your parents or an adult to see what kind of medicine will temporarily ease the pain. Good luck! I know it's hard now but you have a great smile to look forward to!
MummuM answered Thursday July 21 2005, 7:58 pm: I know the feeling. I had braces before. But it's so great after you get used to having your braces. You'll have a million dollar smile and your teeth will look beautiful. For now, just eat simple. Don't eat anything too hard or just cut everything up. It'll be at least a couple of weeks before you will be okay with eating normal food. Milk shakes are great! Your teeth are going to hurt for awhile, but I'm sure you're strong and will be able to take it. It also hurts when they tighten up your wires, it feels like your teeth are going to pop out. (But I'm sure they won't.) It's just a really strange feeling and again, you won't be able to eat for awhile after they tighten your braces. Just eat the same foods you would eat when you got them on. I wish you all the best hun and good luck!

Also, ibyprofen works great to relieve yu of some of the pain. I wish yu the best, and hope yu feel better real soon=)
t0xicParadiSe answered Thursday July 21 2005, 6:37 pm: i have braces too! ugh they were so painful when i first got them but the pain will go away and you will be able to eat normally like in a week dont do much biting beacause it will put more pressure on your teeth
Karen answered Thursday July 21 2005, 6:32 pm: Well, what do you want to know? I had braces before for a few years and I recently just stopped wearing my retainer.
The only advice I can give you about braces is that it's going to hurt like a mother for the next few weeks. Your nerves are going to be sensative, since your teeth are moving. Whenever your wires are tightened, you'll be in a little pain for a day or two but you'll get used to it. Just take a pain reliever and you'll be fine.
sara6547 answered Thursday July 21 2005, 6:30 pm: yeah its gunna feel really weird for like the first week with your braces eating and all that. i'm going into 9th grade and i got my braces going into 6th and i havent been wearing my elastics so i recommend whatever they tell you to do you do because you'll get them off earlier! and honestly be careful what you eat. cuz broken wires and brackets just put more time on how long you have to wear them!
Teza answered Thursday July 21 2005, 6:29 pm: Your mouth will be sore for like 1 or 2 weeks and thats just normal. After then you will be able to eat without your mouth hurting. ♥// [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
