It means that the person was jealous of his/her boyfriend because they hung out with other guys/girls, and it ended up ruining there relationship. It could also mean the same thing except between friends.

Well what I interpret from it is...
Someone thought that being jealous wasn't that bad of a thing, but because of his or her jealousy, it either ruined a great friendship, or a great relationship.
