If you have the money, or if you can window shop without spending money, go around to stores where you like looking at stuff (I used to wonder the farmer's market for an hour or two just looking at stuff). You might think that it's nothing, but if you usually sit and don't do much walking, it'll help a lot. [ mushoku's advice column | Ask mushoku A Question ]
Courtney answered Thursday July 14 2005, 12:48 pm: Sit-ups and crunches will help . If you know a bit, not all, the yoga techniques then that would be helpful a lot . Stretching too, and some movements that would work parts of your body. [ Courtney's advice column | Ask Courtney A Question ]

You can do either cardio or strength training. You can even takesimple exercises like crunches and push ups and do those on the ball.

Adri answered Thursday July 14 2005, 11:37 am: It all depends on your personality. Maybe you can try dancing. Dancing is a good way to get some great exercise, let out your emotions, and have fun all at once! You don't have to be great at it, but as long as you're having fun, go for it! Whether you start taking classes or work on it alone at home, you can just turn on some music. You can also do it where ever you go!
You can also ride your bike for a little while every day. Try starting out with a 10-15 minute ride, and work your way up to an hour! There's almost always different routes you can take so you don't get bored. If you don't like, or aren't allowed, to go out on your own, take a friend with you. You guys can talk while you are riding. A great thing about riding your bike is that you dont have to be better than anyone. You can work your way up to being great at your own pace, where as being on a sports team is very pressuring.
Into swimming? A lot of places have a public swimming pool in the area. Try learning different strokes by taking group lessons. You can also work at your own pace with this activity. Maybe you can even get together with a friend at a pool and work on it with him/her. As you both get more experienced, you can try racing for fun. You won't be able to do this wherever you go, but if you live near a pool, maybe you should try swimming! Many schools also have swim teams.
