Hi, I was wondering if it was safe to blow-dry your hair during a storm. My hair gets really frizzy if I don't blow-dry it as soon as possible, but I don't want to get electricuted! It's not exactly here, but to the east of me, but there's still lightning and everything. Please help, I want to make sure if it's ok or not. Thank you!!!

Power surges can really screw you up and yes, it definitely can travel through the wire. That's the reason many office buildings and even home PC owners turn off their computers during a storm. The electricity can come up the wire and actually kill you.
Odds are it won't happen, but it's possible and has happened to many people talking on phones during storms. [ Krupple's advice column | Ask Krupple A Question ]

If the lightning is like strobe lights going on, definatly DO NOT. However, if the lightning is not that horrible, I say go ahead... but make it as quickly as possible.
