Cutting
I've been reading this site for awhile now and up until I got to this site, I never realized the magnitude of idiots cutting themselves.
What the hell is the allure of slicing metal, glass or whatever into your skin?
"Oh god, life sucks, and I feel so bad. What should I do?"
Its like the people here take half of the advice here seriously and because they can't help themselves through simple problems they do something stupid and nearly suicidal.
"I know what I can do, I can inflict injuries to myself - because a double negative is a positive right? Thats what I learned in English class!"

The concept is that the physical pain takes their mind from the emotional/mental pains.
I don't really understand it though. I use video games, anime or chocolate to take my mind off of my mental stress. ^^

♥I somewhat have to agree with you on this one. However, cutters have reasons to why they do it, not always neccessarily because "life sucks i hate myself im depressed". They do it because their body feels a certain way unless they cut. Cutting is not only a physical addiction, it's a mental addiction as well. People like us who aren't involved in that type of deal aren't able to understand, and probably won't ever. You just have to accept it, and if it bothers you, ignore it.

Cutting themselves is usually a wae to get rid of their pain inside themselves. Sum ppl feel that helps. Theyre not idiots!

hey...i am not a weak retard so you need to shut the HECK up and go through something that you cant handle and tell me what you did about it, and THEN if the answer isnt cutting or hurting yourself in SOME way, then you can call me a weak retard!!!! you have no FREAKING clue! (that was to makenzie or w/e) im sorry about that outburt but she pissed me off!
I used to cut myself all the time and I realize now, that it was stupid, but it felt good to let my pain out that way. I guess that my mental pain was so great that I couldnt feel the phisical pain. I had no intentions of killing myself, but just knowing that I had control over something in my life helped me through the pain. The only thing that killed my addiction to cutting was knowing that God was there for me and I could trust Him and i knew that He was my best answer...Now, I just pray and/or go somewhere where I can and I scream as loud as I can.

I never really understood why people hurting themselves made things better either. Some people just have more mental problems than others and any little thing might be a big deal to them. The reason people cut and hurt themselves is because they want to escape the pain. However they don't realize hurting themselves only escapes the pain temporarily. I strongly believe in this quote "suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" and I just hope more people will realize it. I don't know if I helped, but there you go.
