What makes something funny?
I'm trying to determine out what makes things funny. Is it witty lines, timing, random stuff, or something else? I'll be looking forward for your answers.

When I watch a stand up comic I find them funny when they are talking about a subject that everyone in the audience can relate to.
If you see the "Blue Collar Comedey Tour" on DVD,(Can rent it out at most places)you'll see what I mean.It has Jeff Foxworthy,Larry the Cable Guy,Bill Engvall and Ron White.

It all depends on the people. Sure timing has a lot to do with it, but also the type of humor. Some people think dirty jokes are funny while others have a dry sense of humor where wit is used. Use of sarcasm and a lot of other elements help things to be funny. It just kind of depends on the audience and the person that is saying the comment.

Just being all random, crazy and spontaneous makes things funny. I think it comes naturally. You don't plan it. It happens just like that *clicks fingers*.

Depends on the type of humour. Much humour is funny because either it's true, or has truth in it.
Sometimes humour is funny because of how it's done, or when it's done. Other times, because it's obsurd, or just really, really stupid. (*remembers at fanime's showing of ReDeath...* "PENIS!!!" everybody laughs... now THAT was stupid, but apparently a lot of people thought it was funny. The funny part was when someone retorted "VAGINA!!!" Which was stupid... but witty!)
*ahem* OK, anyway. As above, it often is a witty response.
Then there are the types of humour - dry, slapstick, sadistic and dark, et cetera. Each of the rely on different things.
And the physically based humour types - facial expressions, people getting hurt (which can be slapstick, noises, and other things.

its witty lines and timing mostly my friend hes male yesterday said he was lukn for some nuts and i said he needed a nut that may not sound funny now but bcuz the timing was right we all had a gud laugh

I think funny things are stupid questions people ask on advice sites that have already been asked before. Or retards who post terribly written questions on advice sites.
