Well my boyfriend and i plan on having sex pretty soon and he wants to use 2 condoms for extra protection just incase... you know but do you think that's dumb and is there any kinds of condoms that are like extremely durable and are like guarenteed not to break or anything... please answer... thanx
barbiedollx answered Saturday July 2 2005, 11:54 am: DO NOT USE 2 CONDOMS AT ONCE, it creates more friction causing both to break or tear. So by using 2 your getting the same protection as not using them at all. I found Durlex is the best kind. Same durabilty as Trojen but MUCH cheaper. Also I have found that drug stores are not a good place to buy them since I found that they are MUCH cheaper at places like Target and Wal-Mart. Up to 50% cheaper for the same amount and everything [ barbiedollx's advice column | Ask barbiedollx A Question ]
xOchErrytWistOx answered Tuesday June 28 2005, 8:28 pm: NO NO NO NO! Never ever use 2 condoms. It totally defeats the purpose of using a condom at all. The laytex rubs together and causes leakage and what not. Just use 1 condom. I'd go with Trojans because they are all over TV and called "americas most trusted condom", dont go with any weird cheapo brand. Use a regular condom and nothing like all ribbed and whatever for your first time. JUST DONT USE 2 CONDOMS!!

X0C0URT answered Monday June 27 2005, 5:43 pm: Be thankful that you have a caring boyfriend who is so concerned about birth control! Most guys would prefer not to wear a condom at all! But apparently it's not a good idea to wear 2. The friction between them can cause them to break. Just get the "heavy duty" ones if you're really worried.
S_C answered Monday June 27 2005, 2:48 pm: NEVER EVER EVER EVER use 2 condoms, I've learned in health (since like 6th grade) and I don't remember if they taught this in parent child development, but it causes friction and could make them break. Also never use a condom thats been in someones pocket, that could also cause it to break.
All I know is that trojans are supposedly pretty good, but no condoms are 100% when it comes to not breaking. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]

frenchy answered Monday June 27 2005, 8:27 am: hey! definitely go with only one condom. the friction might cause them to break, and the outer condom would stick to the one below and they could both "fall off". there are no condoms that are guaranteed not to break, cause theres always a possibility, and if they put that on the box an you got pregnant you could sue them. you should try taking a birth control pill, which would help reduce your chances of getting pregnant, even if the condom breaks. hope this helped, peace and love! 2 condoms is a BAD idea. As Mackenzie said, friction can cause both of them to break. Go with one condom, and you should be fine.
Trojans are pretty reliable. Just don't get the "ultra thin" kind, lol. I've been using them since last April and I've never had one break. However, no condoms are "guaranteed" not to break, which is why I'm also on the pill.
If you're not on the pill, you might want to get on it. Condoms alone, or the pill alone, are both about 97% effective. If you use both the pill and condoms, the effectiveness increases to about 99.9%.
It's not dumb to want to be safe at all, but you need to do a little research and make sure your safety precautions are actually safe.
ALSO - just because a lot of people don't know to do this, ask him to hold onto the bottom of the condom when he pulls out. That way the condom won't end up inside you and the semen won't drip out and all that.
I hope this helps!

MHScutie87 answered Sunday June 26 2005, 10:36 pm: yeah it does increase the friction so there are higher rates of them breaking. get one with spermicide because it kills the sperm (trojan seems trustworthy)! also, if you want you can use the 'personal condom chooser' lol
Mackenzie answered Sunday June 26 2005, 10:31 pm: OMG!!!!!!!!!! Two condoms??? NOOOOOOOOO!! They will RUB TOGETHER AND THE FRICTION WILL CAUSE THEM TO TEAR WAYYYYYYYYY EASIER THAN IF HE WORE ONLY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS A ***BAD*** IDEA, BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD!!!!
