I started my period this morning (not for the first time, I've had it for 2 years) and I had REALLY bad cramps and I never usually get cramps.
They were so bad, I couldn't get out of bed.
I know cramps are normal but is it normal for your cramps to start after 2 years of not having them?
and also I vomited today. I've never vomited from my period before but my mom said she used to every month when her period came.
Is that normal!? Especially after two years of not having any trouble with my period.
JadedinNowhere answered Monday June 27 2005, 12:10 pm: Well your mom said that she had the exact same thing.. so sorry kiddo, you guys are probably the same. For the cramps, you may want to take some midol.
Sometimes cramps and different symptoms can come at any stage that you've had your period, and two years isn't tooo long to have your period. If you need any more help drop one by the inbox.

SmileLikeYouMeanIt answered Sunday June 26 2005, 9:24 pm: Almost the same thing happened to me. I had mine for a while and then all of a sudden I got these horrible cramps. It's completely normal, so there is no need to worry. You also don't have to worry about the vomitting, because that happens to a lot of my girl friends. I guess it's just something that goes along with your period... it sucks, but you just have to deal with it.

Heptune answered Sunday June 26 2005, 11:23 am: The same thing happened to me. The nausea and cramps started about two years after I got my first period. I think it's pretty common. I hope for you it's an isolated incident, but with me, I felt sick every month until I had children.
Different remedies work for different people, but what worked for me is Ibuprofin (Motrin). As soon as you know your period is coming on, take up to 4 Motrin (no more than a total of 800 mg). Make sure you have something in your stomach when you take the Motrin (or take them with milk). My daughter prefers Alleve to get rid of her cramps and nausea, and she also finds it soothing to soak in a hot bath.
Other women regulate their bad periods with the Pill. And it can also help to poo when you feel the period coming on. It helps to relieve the pressure. [ Heptune's advice column | Ask Heptune A Question ]
