Question Posted Thursday June 16 2005, 11:23 am

I was three days late for my period so I took two home pregnacy test and they both came up with a very faint positve. I then got my period like an hour after I took the second one. Is it possible that the test were wrong or can you be pregnate and still get your period?

The tests could be wrong but believe it or not you can be pregnant and still get your period. I know of many people that got their period throughout their whole pregnancy.

you can be preg and have your period but it is possible that the test were detecting your period hormones but i would either go to a doctor or take another test after your period it should be a bold positive and if you were thinking you were preg and stressing that could have caused your period to be late

99.9% of the time, women will not get their periods when they are pregnant. Normally, if you get your period you have aborted the fetus. Yes, it is possible for you to be pregnant but the chances are extremely slim. I really don't think you should have anything to worry about since you've gotten your period, but just to be 100% positive, when you finish your period take another test and see how it turns out. Also, pregnancy tests are not 100% accurate. Just wait it out, I'm sure you'll be fine. You have nothing to worry about :)

Its ver rare that people have a period while being pregnant.. but my older sister had a period while being 8 months pregnant so its not completely impossible.. and she went to the doctor about it cause she thought she might of been miscarraging but the doctor said she had a period.. i think you should just see a doctor so that way you dont have worries.. ♥ Dez

Don`t listen to anyone that tells you that you can have your period when you`re pregnant.
The TOTAL TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH is, you CAN`T.
your uterus isn`t cleaning itself out anymore (that`s the purpose of your period) because if you`re pregnant, an egg is growing in your uterus and it can`t flush itself out with a growing egg.
Take note that sometimes home pregnancy tests mess up.

if it was a faint positive and you got your period after the second test it might be an mistake and it could be false or what could have happened was that after the second test there could have been loose blood but there is always the chance that if you keep getting for number of consecutive days you got your period meaning that you are not pregnant!

You can still have your period if you are pregnant and the line is faint when everyone takes it or atleast when i took it after your period try it again and see what it says. Hope things work out.♥
