I know it could work. When you finally meet the people, talk about what your favorite things are and maybe you'll have a new friend!

Anywhere young people hang out and get together. Meet them through friends and relatives. Girls just like attention, so any that you like just smile at them and give them your attention and they're all yours. Swimming pools and beaches are good places to meet new people too. Kind of depends on what you're interested in. If you like to read you might just find a friend at the library.
Just get out there and start talking to new people! Most people respond well to kindness and smiles :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]

Promise yourself to talk to one person each day you've never really talked to before. Even if it just your bus driver. You'll find life a lot more interesting and be surprised how many friends you make. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]
