make-up

Question Posted Sunday June 12 2005, 8:18 pm

I just got new liquid eye liner. I thought it would be easier than the other stuff, but it isn't. When I put it on it looks weird and I can normally fix it but it still doesn't look right. Are there any tips I can use to make this stuff not look so gross? I'm pretty good with make-up, but when it comes to this stuff, I can't get it to look right.

Heyy for neat lines heres what you do!
1.rest your elbows and look down at a mirror!
2.pull your eyelid out until tight enough to draw on.
3.in one sweep draw a thick or thin line close to your lashes.for a 60's look flick the lien out into an upwards tick.

good luck

Pencil would work better, but liquid is way more dramatic! So, if it doesn't dry too fast, i would suggest putting a dotted line under and over your eye and then using a Q-tip to smudge is out even. Then fill in with pencil anything that might look weird.
Good Luck!

How about switching to pencil? When it comes to liquid eyelineR oR pencil eyelineR, it's just a peRsonal pRefeRence as to which we use. CeRtain things suit ceRtain people. HoweveR, if you ask... chances aRe that most people will tell you that pencil is a betteR choice. It's a gReat staRt foR a beginneR who is just getting used to it. If you mess up, pencil is A WHOLE LOT easieR to clean up and Re-do than liquid would be. And if you plan on caRRying it aRound in a puRse oR pocket.. you also face a chance that the liquid may Ruin [though I don't suggest caRRying eyelineR in youR pocket]. And if you do mess it up, just take a tissue and slowly Run it along the Rim of youR eyelid.. it'll come Right up. Now, the desiRed effect of eyelineR is to cReate the illusion of daRkness just above the lashline to enhance the look of the lashes. To apply it, gently hold youR eyelid down, and staRt at the inneR paRt of the lid [closest to youR nose]. Then just simply dRaw a thin line smoothly and evenly along the uppeR lid, getting as close to the lashes as possible. Also, make shoRe you dRaw the line all the way to the outside coRneR. It will pRobably take some pRactice -- it took me a while at fiRst too... now I have it down incRedibly well. And now foR the pRoducts... peRsonally, I think the two best bRands of eyelineR out theRe aRe "MeRyl NoRman" and "Beautique". "MeRyl NoRman", which can only be puRchased at "The MeRyl NoRman Cosmetic Studios", is pRicey [typically $8.50 - $15.00], but it REALLY IS good stuff. It goes on wondeRfully, and stays on all day!!! On the otheR hand... I happen to think that "Beautique" is INCREDIBLE, howeveR, I've ONLY seen "Beautique" at "Sally's". And "Beautique" is only .99 cents. TRUST ME.. I would NEVER EVER EVER buy cRap make up!!! I get only the best, so please, please, please, please DON'T let this dollaR pRice thRow you off - you'd be cheating youRself out of the best pRoduct out theRe!! I'd *PREFER* "Beautique" out of ANY otheR bRand of eyelineR!! I could easily go out and buy a $15.00 pencil, but I'd RATHER get "Beautique"! "Beautique" glides on smoothly and REALLY LASTS ALLLLL DAY!!! I CAN NOT pRomote this item enough!! And if you still have doubts... foR only .99 cents.. it's woRth a shot!! I hope I helped!! :D

Yea, i never used the liquid eyeliner. Theres really nothin you could do, because thats just how it is.. but there are different brands of liquid eyeliner, maybe you just bought the wrong brand? I dont know, but i personally like regular eyeliner the best, the one that goes on easily and never smears, the price would be about 3-4$ at the max. =)

If you are having trouble using the liquid eyeliner.(I personally don't like the liquid as much). Then you should switch over to using a soft tip pencil. It's alot easier to control where the eyeliner goes and if you put it on right and have a soft tip then it dosen't even hurt when you put it on.

I honestly think that liquid eyeliner is worthless and it sucks!! I wouldnt use it because you can do the same thing with normal eyeliner. The kind you got is probablly not so good so try changing the brand. When you are applying it put it as close to your eyelid as you can so it looks normal. Also dont use too much of it and go over it twice. ex___oOh ♥
